bonjour 5:34 p.m. on Wednesday, May. 28, 2003 if you're wondering what me and sally were talking about in my guestbook, we're trying to come up with a solution to a problem. dan's been told by the home office that he has 10 days ((well, it'll be 9 now)) to leave the country after they rejected his application for british citizenship. he was born in england, which should technically entitle him to british citizenship, but apparently it hasn't done, for whatever reason. so sally and i are trying to sort out a way to stop this from happening. it just seems so weird that one of my friends could be leaving the country and i'll never see them again. plus it's dan! if anyone knows anything about this who could help, let me know. the only solutions we've come up with so far are sally marrying dan or her dad adopting dan's family. help us!!! anyway, yesterday, after i saw bambi and harri i just came home and "revised" for the evening. jimbo cooked us fajitas, which were yummy but he reckons he didn't cook them well enough so we're both gonna get food poisoning. then he rang granda, who is on his own at the moment and really lonely, and they chatted for a while. then spoke to harri on the phone, then sally til quite late. went to bed at about 12 and decided to watch the 9/11 documentary that i ordered from amazon. it was shown on bbc on the anniversary of september 11th, and i'd heard that it was really good. i bought it thinking that i want my kids to be able to understand what happened that day, and i wanted my own documentation of it. i have my diary entry saved that i did on september 11th 2002, so i have my own recollection of where i was when i heard about it, but i wanted to see it from a different perspective. the guys that filmed it, Jules and Gedeon Naudet, were actually in tower 1 of the wtc when tower 2 collapsed. it's seriously scary, but i strongly recommend you watch this documentary. i couldn't turn it off after i put it on, i was just so shocked and moved by it. i haven't cried so much in a long time. we kept the newspapers from september 12th 2001, but this video just shows you so much more. the full horror of 9/11 is captured hautingly, and even though i can't think about that day without crying, i had to watch the documentary. it was hard to watch, but in some ways i knew i had to. it's truly fantastic, and fully respects those that lost their lives and their families. that meant i was up til after 2 this morning, and finally fell asleep, my eyes hurting from all the crying. i woke up early, with the sun shining, showered, got dressed and went and revised in the garden. been revising all day! so bored! but there was two episodes of er on earlier, so i was a happy bunny! oooh everybody, you can go to my cast page and read all about the people i mention in my diary! i saw that || now |
